I just ran across a neat looking color scheme tool called pic2color. You can upload a photo that you intend to use on your website and it will give you colors that coordinate with that photo. Also, you can upload a photo and a graphic and then it will recolor the graphic to coordinate with the photo.

Welcome to my little blog. I am not a great orator about the world of web design, but I am an avid reader. I wanted a place to keep all the little gems I find that help me do a better job as a web designer, and this is that place! Here you will find links to great tools, some tips, and an occasional announcement regarding some of my latest projects. I hope you will find the information here useful!

Here’s a wonderful online application that allows you to edit your photos online. There’s no download and it’s FREE! It’s called Picnik. From their website:
“Picnik makes your photos fabulous with easy to use yet powerful editing tools. Tweak to your heart’s content, then get creative with oodles of effects, fonts, shapes, and frames.
It’s fast, easy, and fun.”
Cool! And thanks to my friend Deborah for the tip!

I just read a post on Killersite’s discussion board by a regular member, lm, which pointed out a clever CSS Zen Garden design. Bruce Lawson takes a look back in time with his Geocities 1996 design. I got a big kick out of it and I thought you might enjoy it, too! Beware - there’s LOTS of stuff going on and you might feel a bit of eye strain. I know I did!

I am pleased to announce the addition of a new website to my portfolio, Family Support Parnership Lanarkshire! My client requested a website that was completely powered by Wordpress so he could easily update and manage his website on his own. So, I designed this custom theme just for their organization. Through the use of various helpful plugins, it truly is like a mini-CMS (content management system). I was provided with some stock photography to be used in the flash slideshow and header images, and I used my creativity in coming up with their display. I truly had a lot of fun working on this site and I wish Family Support Partnership Lanarkshire the best of luck in their endeavors!
